Adka Independence provides support for adults within their own homes.

Through our time of working with service users with a learning difficultly, we are passionate about what we wish to achieve through Adka Independence. The ethos behind our vision is based on what we have witnessed through our work with this group of adults.

People are now gaining access to direct payments and individualised budgets which allows them to be in control of their lives, with support from people who they wish to support them.

Any excess revenue will be reinvested in developing new services to reinforce our vision. It is our priority to continually improve individual’s lifestyles and empower adults to choose to live independently in a environment of their own. The benefits of this include improved privacy, varied choice of personal food intake and own personal choice of support staff. These decisions can be based on one person, or more than one person living together. These aims can be difficult to achieve in a traditional residential home setting.

We are also aiming to support service users who are wishing to move from their parental homes and do not wish to live within a care home setting.

The need for this type of service is developing and we aim to promote our involvement with others to improve lifestyles for those who have not yet had the opportunity to be supported to live in their own homes with support from well trained and empathetic staff.

Adka Independence will support adults within their own homes.

Adka Independence, working in partnership with others, will have a range of properties available to suit your needs. This accommodation could be within any district of Hull and surrounding area and could be provided by the local authority or a private landlord.

All tenants will have their own agreed tenancy contract. People are able to gain access to direct payments and individualised budgets which allows them to be in control of their lives, with support from people who they wish to support them
